#HumanitiesDC News per @dcist: Animals Take Over Capitol Hill Streets As Part of Neighborhood Art Project funded in part by @humanitiesdc

“Capitol Hill street signs have gone to a dog — and an emu, a spider, and a falcarius.
As part of the This Place Has A Voice project, the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop commissioned ten sculptures in that Southeast D.C. neighborhood for the Capitol Hill Alphabet Animal Art Project. As its name implies, the project — which was funded by the D.C. Department of Transportation, the DC Humanities Council and the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities — brings sculptures of animals to streets that share a first letter. Artists worked with local historian Mara Cherkasky. Activities surrounding the project will be announced soon.”
